Use your Sun Cellular Sim Card to Surf the Internet
What if you are out of your house and needs to check your e-mail using your 3G mobile phone? Well for Sun Cellular Prepaid subscribers it is quite easy to do. Of course it would be much more convenient for people with 3G or 3.5G enabled phones because they can avail of the faster internet connection speeds that most networks now offer. So how can I use my mobile phone to connect to Sun Cellular’s 3G internet connection?
First of all there is a little modification on your phone that needs to be done. if you are a SUN Cellular subscriber and if you do not know whether you can use your phone to surf the internet, then you can find the detailed instructions in the Sun Cellular Phone Configuration Guide. All you need to do is to select the manufacturer and the model of your phone and you will receive an Excel file containing the configuration for GPRS and MMS setting. But I need the Internet configuration setting not the ones for MMS or GPRS. Don’t worry because the Excel file also includes a tab named “Internet over GPRS” and “WAP over GPRS”. If you have a 3G or 3.5G phone (which I do in the form of a Nokia 5800), the settings will automatically connect through this connection channel instead of the old and slower GPRS speeds. So in effect, you can browse away through the 3G network of Sun Cellular at break neck speeds. How much does it cost to surf the internet?
Sun Cellular offers an affordable rate of P10 for every 30 minutes of surfing. If you have not completed 30 full minutes of accessing the internet, you can still use the remaining balance within 2 hours. For example you have successfully connected by 2:00 PM. Automatically you will be charged or deducted P10. Then you logged off by 2:15 PM. The remaining 15 minutes can still be used within 2 hours or within 2:15 (since your first connection was 2:00 PM) to 4 PM.
Unlike with other networks where you are forced to continuously consume the 30 minute connection or else your time is running and you are wasting money.
Using your mobile phone to surf the internet to instantly check your e-mail or get updates for your Facebook and Friendster accounts is more practical than looking for a Wi-fi zone. Try using your Sun Cellular phone today and enjoy internet on the go.
