What does Alexa ranking mean to a newbie Blogger
I am quite happy today. It is because my Alexa ranking has been increasing for the last five days. I know there are other websites that can measure site statistics but since Alexa is on my bookmark, I think I will stick to it to measure my website’s traffic. When I started getting stats from Alexa, I was ranked 14,000+ among the Philippine websites. The day after I was at 13410. I was enthralled to see that in just a matter of 24 hours I was at least 600 notch higher. Here is the summary of the whole 5 days:
September 18 — 14000+
September 19 — 13410
September 20 — 12705
September 21– 11999
September 22 (today) — 10712

So in five days, I accumulated a total rank difference of about 4000! I think that’s huge hehehe. Well I am not knowledgeable with site statistic factors but having your own website and seeing it increase in ranks is so much fun.
As you can see I am not included in the top 100,000 in the graph because my site is barely a month old. I assume Alexa ranks the top 100,000 worldwide not only in the Philippines. I am currently rank 2Million worldwide.
What did you do in the past couple of days?
Well I do not really know what exactly drove my ranking but it is a combination of hard work and perseverance. Naks! I regularly post articles, I think daily for the past 2 weeks. Commenting on other blogs and getting link backs may have also helped a lot, I think.
What’s next for Rian?
Of course my target is to be ranked much much higher than this. I will continue posting good articles and probably extend my network of readers much further. It’s about time for serious SEO. Hope this will serve as an inspiration to all newbie bloggers like me. Good luck!

hmm do you know what particular blog generated more views??? is it possible in alexa?? Im a newbie and maybe id like to know some techniques from you or tips if you have any.. tnx

I am just going 3 months old and I think the best rank driver for me is the frequent posting of articles. Also, try using some social sites to bookmark your articles. I guess you can also do so if you will post articles daily.
