What Free Philippines Antivirus Software Do You Use?

What free Philippines antivirus software have you already tried? For the past three years or so, I have been using Avira Antivir. It is quite very easy to use and does not chomp up huge amounts of memory. In that case I can still do demanding tasks on my computer
even if it is running. Avira Antivir is just like any other free Philippines antivirus program out there which has a built in prompt for update. You can simply select the update to run everyday or every week depending on your preferences. Go to the Scheduler tab and edit your update preferences. What I like about Avira Antivir is it’s lightness. The program loads fast if you wish to do manual update or do a complete system scan.

I have also tried a free Philippines antivirus software before by the name of AVG. During the first few months, the scanner and protection were fine. But there was an instance when I was attacked by a trojan worm and AVG was not able to protect my PC. I had to reformat my computer and opted to use Avira Antivir instead. Also, the newer version of AVG seems to be eating a huge amount of my RAM making my overall computer tasks slow. Although the interface is quite good considering cool new graphics colors but I guess I’ll just have to stick with the Avira Antivir. Aside from this free Philippines antivirus software, I am also using free Spybot Search and Destroy and occasionally run free Noob Killer for additional protection, it is good for Taga Lipa worm by the way if you happen to have this. Also, I make sure that the default Windows XP firewall is enabled.  What about you, what free antivirus program do you use? How effective is it?
